PHILIPPINES UPDATE

Our 2007 Language Recording Project on Mindanao in the Philippines is bearing fruit. You’ll remember we recorded a number of our films into the Ilongo and Cebuano Languages on that Project knowing in advance most of the results would never be known here at the ministry. Distribution of video disks becomes a very personal process whereby hundreds of disks can be passed out with no provision possible for follow up information and blessings.

We do, however, maintain contact with some of those with whom we worked, and in particular Project Director, Dr. Nora Laus. Her ministry has been one of the most aggressive evangelism works in the Philippines, and audiovisuals have been the method of choice connected to her Medical and Dental Clinics. We receive quarterly Reports from Dr. Laus, very well organized and always greatly encouraging. On the most-recent Report we were excited to see that Ilongo Language Films had been shown 9 times to 833 people with 256 praying to receive Christ. Likewise, a Cebuano Report indicated 8 showings to 711 people with 202 praying to receive Jesus Christ.

This is direct fruit from the labor, and a great blessing to those who provided financial resources and prayer support for this Project. Thank you for making possible such ministry opportunities as languages that speak the heart language of Ilongo and Cebuano people. God has blessed with results! But we encourage you to continue praying for the ongoing harvest.
